Mexican Milagros

Milagro means miracle in Spanish. They're usually sold outside the church, one would buy a Milagro for a particular ailment, take it into the church, say a prayer & pin it to a saint. One assigns one's own intent to whatever shape is chosen. If migraines are a problem one would chose the appropriate head, male or female and say a prayer for relief from migraines. They come in a variety of body parts to represent whatever ails you.
Interesting pieces to add to collages, assemblages or small dolls. The selections below are sets I put together. I only have one of each set pictured. These are made in the traditional way so are very primitive. The metal is silvery although some of them do have some warmer coloration to them. If one is inclined, some of the rougher areas could be filed & they could be painted. The average size is about 1", arms & legs are approx. 1 1/4" long.

Vintage Lovebird Pendants

Vintage metal lovebird pendant with 2 holes for 5mm cabochons & one hole for a 5mm round bead/stone. A unique embellishment for an altered book, collage, assemblage or jewelry. Attach by chain, thread, ribbon or glue, (the backs are concave so a thick bead of glue could be applied & it would lay flat)

Finish is rubbed off in some areas & tarnishing in others but can be easily fixed with Rub'n Buff or any paints for metal. I have only 1 available and will not be getting more, unless by some fluke I stumble across some. 2 x 1-7/8"

Brass Red Fish

Back of the fish is hollow kinda like a tiny candy mold, hole at the nose just the right size for small brass nails. Click on the images to see them nailed to one of my boxes. I attached them with nails so they swing or wiggle when the box is moved.
I haven't tried it but a green patina might work well on the gold ones. Either can be painted to change colors. Measures 1-1/8 x 7/16" 10 per pkg.
